news.samba.org is your news and information portal for all things Samba. This sub-site of samba.org will be, like Samba itself, a community driven project. Whether or not the site grows and proves to be useful is completely up to you, the dedicated users and developers of Samba. "But what can *I* do?", you say. Share your stories, that's what!
When we mention a "story" here, we mean it in the broadest possible sense of the word. A story may be an actual news piece about Samba, or a link to a news piece from another site, or a story could be an article someone has written that relates to Samba. Stories could also be announcements of related technologies, conferences, etc. that users, developers, and vendors of Samba might find interesting and/or useful. And in practical terms, we will also be publishing release announcements and Samba Team announcements as stories on news.samba.org. If you have something, or have seen something online, that you think may be of interest to people here, use our story submission form.
When submitting a story to news.samba.org, you'll need to consider to which topic or audience your piece applies. We have established six basic story sections where any piece can be listed. They are:
When you submit a story, you will need to mark which section best applies to your story. If you're unsure about which section is best, pick what you think is closest and we'll change the section if we feel a story would work better alongside other pieces.Choosing a section only helps us understand how you envisioned the piece fitting in here at news.samba.org.
